LB Alonzo Middleton
6-2, 230, 4.56
Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School
Orangeburg, South Carolina
"We are right now getting ready for Edinsboro, and I think we will handle them," says Middleton, who will play in his first game since a season-ending injury put him on the shelf for half of the season last year.
"Last year I did not get to make a name for myself, but I am hoping to be a big leader on the field," admits the 6-foot-2, 230 pounder. "I am a bit nervous about going out there, but I am not scared at all. I am just ready to make a play."
As for recruiting, Middleton's focus has been off somewhat with the combination of the silent period and upcoming season.
"I have gotten a lot of media guides and I went to several schools for camp, like Georgia, Notre Dame, Duke, North Carolina, and South Carolina."
As for a favorite, Middleton is not ready to really limit the field.
"Anybody that recruits me is a favorite. (South) Carolina is up there for sure, Notre Dame, Clemson, East Carolina, and North Carolina are probably my top five schools."
Middleton would like to wait a while before he commits to a school and has not lined up any visits as of yet.
