The Palmetto state schools appear to have an uphill battle to win the services of superstar linebacker Lawrence Timmons. "Florida is my leader. They are my clear cut favorite right now. Coach Strong is recruiting me for Florida."

Michigan and Tennessee follow Florida but the Gators appear to have a big lead at this point. Timmons is still waiting on an offer from Miami and they could jump to the top of his list if they were to offer later in the season.

The Tigers have a lot of ground to make up with Timmons, but Coach Swinney continues to work the Wilson High School superstar.

"I talked with Coach Swinney last week. I thought Clemson was loaded and linebacker but he told me they weren't and that I could definitely see some early playing time if I come to Clemson." Timmons does not remember talking with the coaches from South Carolina since the coaches started calling again on September 1st.

Timmons had an impressive game last Friday as he caught a pass for a touchdown, caused several fumbles, and also recovered 2 fumbles. The talented prospect has led Wilson High to 2 wins and no losses as the 2003 season gets underway.

Don't expect an early commitment as Timmons plans to wait until the end of his season to make a commitment. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding linebacker from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2004. Top Stories
