OL Cameron Mayo
6-5, 250, 5.0
Dalton High School
Cameron Mayo, a 6-3, 250 pound offensive lineman and defensive end from Dalton (GA), had one sack and 11 tackles in the victory over Ringgold (Ga.) Northwest Whitfield High School this past week. Mayo's goals for the season are to "keep up the winning tradition and win the state championship."
He is also a very motivated student in the classroom carrying a 3.4 GPA.
Mayo just got back from checking out Auburn over the past couple of weekends for the USC and the Vanderbilt games.
"The coaches were real good to us and the game day experience of the Tiger Walk" made for "a great atmosphere," Mayo said. "Right now, Auburn, Ole Miss and Clemson are my leaders. I know I will visit Clemson in January sometime."
Mayo was quoted earlier this summer, "I like a small campus. Clemson really stands out to me because of that. I liked the town and the school a lot. I also don't want to be really far from home either."
"I think I pass protect the best," Mayo added earlier this year. "I have long arms and when I lock in on the defender, it's a big advantage for me. I also have good feet and I stay with my blocks out there."
Mayo is being recruited to Clemson by offensive line coach Ron West. We will continue to keep you updated on this talented offensive line prospect, right up through signing day 2004.
