QB William Richardson
6-4, 210, 4.8
Sumter High School
Sumter, South Carolina
"I have visited South Carolina for a few of their games, but it is all up in the air," says the 6-foot-4, 210 pounder with a gun for an arm. "I am leaning at going out of state, but I really want to keep my options open based on what happens with offers."
The change came from Virginia after they called him recently.
"I just received a call on Saturday from Virginia saying they would be taking any more quarterbacks this year. Apparently they got a commitment over the summer and recently had a kid transfer in."
With Virginia gone, Richardson has a new top five.
"Right now, I like Clemson, South Carolina, Duke, Maryland, and NC State. Maybe after the season is over I will take some more visits, but it depends on what the coaches say."
This year, Richardson and his Sumter teammates are doing well with a 4-0 record and won 46-0 Friday night. Richardson went 11-16 for 183 yards and three touchdowns on the night in the Gamecocks' no huddle offense.
For those that remember, William is the brother of former Sumter, and Penn State quarterback Wally Richardson. We will continue to keep you updated on William, right up through signing day 2004.
