Woodmont High (S.C.) 6-5, 195-pound forward Sam Perry committed to Clemson on Tuesday. Perry, who averaged 17 points and 13 boards per game last season, chose the Tigers over Tulane, Duquesne and Charleston.

New Clemson coach Oliver Purnell went to watch Perry work out on Monday and secured a commitment less than 24 hours later. Perry had already visited Duquesne and was scheduled to head to Tulane this weekend and Charleston on October 3rd.

Perry becomes the second verbal commitment for Purnell in the 2004 class.

The Tigers also have the verbal commitment of Cheyenne Moore, a top 100 player nationally, and the 13th ranked small forward overall by TheInsiders.

We will have additional quotes from Perry's coach and Perry himself soon. Top Stories
