Shonn Green, one of the top running backs in the Northeast, started his senior season with a dominating performance. Are the Tigers still one of the favorites for the superstar running back? We've got the latest on that and John Lovett's trip up to New Jersey in this extensive report.

The 5-11, 190 pound speedster led Winslow Township to a victory in their season opener on September 14th.

Green carried the ball 17 times for 220 yards and 2 touchdowns. Last Friday the talented running back was not as fortunate as his team lost a 7-6 heart breaker after missing an extra point. The prize recruit gained 65 yards on 18 carries and also added 10 tackles as a linebacker.

Green continues to list Clemson, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Syracuse, Iowa and Maryland as his favorites, with all of the leaders have offered except Tennessee.

Coach Lovett was in attendance Friday night to see the superstar running back. "We talked before the game. He told me to have a good game."

The talented prospect expects to take his official visits in December before making a decision. "My parents have told me to take my time and make the right choice," stated Green.

Green orginally had the Tigers in the lead earlier this summer, but he has since backed off naming a clear cut leader as he turns his attention to his senior year in New Jersey. Nevertheless, the Tigers appear to be in good shape here.

We will continue to keep you updated on the outstanding running back from New Jersey, right up through signing day 2004.
