The 6-1, 228 pound prospect visited Clemson with his father, and he came away impressed with the Tigers. "I definitely thought it was a good game. Clemson played good." The elder Briggs is the defensive coordinator for Gastonia Ashbrook and he has a good relationship with Coach O'Cain.

Clemson, North Carolina, and South Carolina are the favorites for the two-way starter at Gastonia Ashbrook, but Briggs continues to await offers from his favorites. South Carolina is recruiting Briggs the hardest at this point.

The Clemson coaching staff met with the talented prospect on his visit and asked his father to provide some additional tape. "I talked with Coach O'Cain and Coach Blackwell during my visit. Coach Blackwell asked for some additional tapes so they could see me in pass coverage."

Briggs, who plays running back and linebacker, led his team to a 21-6 victory over East Gaston on Friday night. The talented athlete scored a touchdown rushing the ball and added another in the passing game.

Clemson has not visits scheduled for the next few weeks but he does plan at least 2 additional visits. "I want to try to make it up to the Naval Academy and I know I will make it to the Clemson at South Carolina game."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from North Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
