Speedy Florida RB Eyes the Tigers

We keep the focus in the state of Florida with this incredible running back from Ft. Lauderdale. Last season, he rushed for over 1,429 yards while helping lead his team to an outstanding 13-2 record. (state runner-up) He also is super fast out of the backfield, running a legitimate 4.4 40-yard dash.

At 5'10, 190, Markis Facyson could be a great addition to the 2002 recruiting class. He is an explosive back with great hands and good down the field vision. He currently benches almost 300 lbs and he has continued to dominate defenses this season.

In a year where the talent level at the running back position in the state of South Carolina appears to be lower than normal, it will be imperative for Tommy Bowden to grab some quality out of state talent. What better place to look than Florida?

This past weekend Markis rushed for 107 yards on only 19 carries as his team struggled in a 30-0 loss, but his yards per game average on the ground continues to rise. He has been known to be able to bounce off defenders in the backfield and take it the distance on many occasions. Earlier this year, with his team in desperate need of a 1st down on 4th and short, Facyson was stopped, but he was able to slip out of two tackles, reversed the field and sprinted to the end zone for touchdown.

This is something that has become sort of a regular occurence for this standout running back.

Ranked as the 7th best prospect in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area, Markis Facyson has programs from all across the country after his services.

Clemson has already offered this impressive back, he also has received offers from Auburn, West Virginia, Michigan State, Boston College, and Wake Forest.

We will continue to keep you updated on Markis Facyson's progress throughout the season, as well as his top 5. (as soon as it becomes available)

A special thanks goes out to FloridaPrepFootball.com for the nice image of Markis used in this report.
