Future Gamecock Giving Tigers a Look?

Last April Matt Raysor committed to the University of South Carolina. Clemson was not recruiting the talented defender when he committed to the Gamecocks, but that has changed over the past few weeks. We've got all the details on how Clemson is starting to get a look from the Bamberg star.

Raysor has led Bamberg Ehrhardt High School to a 6-2 record on the season. The talented prospect had 18 tackles including 2 sacks last Friday but it wasn't enough as his team lost a close game. Raysor has 99 tackles and 8 sacks on the year.

Coach Ron West and the Clemson Tigers appear to be making a late push to try to convince the standout defensive lineman that he should be listening to Tiger Rag next year instead of 2001.

"I'm looking at Clemson now, but I'm still committed to Carolina. At the beginning of the year when I committed to South Carolina, Clemson didn't really recruit me. Coach Ron West just called recently and Clemson is recruiting me now. I want to learn more about Clemson."

"Coach West called again yesterday. He was talking about how they lost a close one on Thursday. He wanted to know how everything was going. He asked if I could come up for the North Carolina game, but I have to take the ACT that day."

The Tigers will get their chance to impress the star defender in a few weeks as Raysor plans to visit Death Valley. "I'm going to the Florida State game," stated the prize recruit.

The 6-4, 275 pound defender, who runs a 4.8 forty, has also scheduled an official visit with the Tigers for the weekend of January 9. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defender from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
