Recruiting Update: WR Travis Anderson

We've got the latest stats on WR Travis Anderson from Byrnes High School in Spartanburg, SC. Anderson, timed at 4.39 40-yard dash this past July has been hearing from programs all across the south.

Standing 5'10 and weighing in at 175 lbs, he has 17 receptions for 391 yds and 5 TDs on the year. Anderson also starts as a defensive back and returns punts and kickoffs when necessary.

Travis has helped lead his team to an impressive 5-1 record, including one game that saw Brynes run up an incredible 65 points on 8 touchdown passes. (Anderson was on the receiving end of three of those scores which were 64, 89, and 17 yards respectively.)

Last season, he registered 52 catches for 810 yards and eight TDs playing wide receiver, and recorded 8 interceptions in the defensive backfield.

With a 37.4 inch vertical, he also has the ability to leap over defenders to make the spectacular catch. As one of his coaches said recently, "He's a threat to score on any play."

Anderson currently is hearing from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and South Carolina. Brad Scott has been the coach most in touch with Anderson from Clemson.

Interestingly enough, some scouts have said that Anderson could make the ideal cover corner in college. He's certainly got the speed to cover almost wideout from an opposing team, and with his great vertical leaping ability, he'll be able to grab a good number of interceptions.
