The 6-3, 190 pound athlete traveled to Clemson with junior teammate Chris Brewer to enjoy another Saturday in Death Valley. "I loved yesterday. I loved the atmosphere. The fans really got behind the team." Ashcraft will get another chance to see the Tigers this weekend as he plans to take an unofficial visit to Wake Forest.

Do the Clemson Tigers continue to lead for the talented athlete? "Yes sir," stated Ashcraft. North Carolina and South Carolina are the other favorites for the North Carolina standout.

The Tigers are recruiting Ashcraft as a running back or defensive back, as are the Tarheels and Gamecocks. Wake Forest and North Carolina State are recruiting Ashcraft solely as a running back. Wake Forest has offered Ashcraft, while the Pack is showing significant interest but has not offered. "I prefer to stay in the backfield," stated the speedster.

Ashcraft had another impressive performance last Friday as he led Monroe High to a 28-0 victory. The talented running back carried the ball 16 times for 89 yards and 1 touchdown.

Coach O'Cain plans to travel to Monroe this Friday to see the prize recruit in action. Ashcraft will be trying to lead his team to the conference championship with a victory over Charlotte Catholic.

Ashcraft is not ready to make his commitment yet. "I'm still trying to wait a little longer," stated the prize recruit. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from North Carolina, right up through signing day 2004. Top Stories
