Oliver Purnell Opening Statements
"I'm real pleased with our recruiting class and this group of young men. My hat goes off to all of them because they really have stepped out there and said that they want to a part of building a program and living the dream of winning the ACC. They've signed on the dotted line indicating that they can make this happen."
"My hat goes off to Cheyenne Moore, because he was the first to commit. He went out there with a leap faith that we would sign some other quality players to go along with him. He's very athletic, 6-foot-6. We are looking at him as a '2' right now, but he can also play the '1.'"
"Sam Perry is a young man that's a local player that our staff caught a glimpse of during the summer period. He's that model player that we are kind of looking at right now. Long and athletic, about 6-5, 6-6. He's probably a '3' but probably strong enough to play a '4'. He's a local player, and we certainly did want to make a mistake on a local player. We want to recruit from the inside out. Sam fits the mold and I think he's got a chance to be a tremendous player."
"James Mays, he's a running, high post type of power forward that can get up and down and floor. He has the opportunity to be an outstanding player. He'll be a tough match up because of his quickness. He's had a tremendous high school year last year."
"All of these young men come from winning programs, and that's important. They understand team, and they understand success."
