Peach Bowl Selects Clemson

The Clemson Tigers will face an SEC school in the post season this year in Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on January 2nd. A formal announcement is expected later today.

Peach Bowl officials met for over 3 hours late yesterday evening before selecting the Tigers over N.C. State. This will be the first time that Clemson has played in the Peach Bowl since 1999.

N.C. State will now become the top choice for the fourth bowl that is tied in with the ACC- the Tangerine Bowl.

The Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl is the only bowl game scheduled for a 4:30 kickoff on January 2nd. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.

This is Clemson's 27th bowl appearance overall, and its 5th straight under head coach Tommy Bowden, who is expected to receive a multi-year contract extension later this afternoon.

The Tigers are 13-13 overall in bowl games. Top Stories
