Coach Williams visited Lamar High School to meet with Hamlin on Monday. "It went good. He talked about Coach Cosh being fired. It was shocking. I couldn't believe it at first. Coach Williams said that Coach Holtz did what he had to do."

Clemson Coach Burns had promised to visit the talented prospect on Sunday if his team had lost last weekend, but the visit will have to wait as Lamar won their playoff game against Timmonsville last Friday. "He said if we lost he would come by Sunday. We won so he had to reschedule."

Hamlin had an impressive performance in the victory over his best friend Phillip Morris. "I had one catch and a two point conversion. I also had six tackles, including one forced fumble."

The Palmetto standout is not ready to go on record with a leader. "I'm still looking at several schools. South Carolina, Clemson, North Carolina and Wake Forest are the leaders," stated the prize recruit.

Hamlin has set official visits with both the in-state schools but he has yet to set visits with North Carolina or Wake Forest.

Don't expect a commitment from the talented defender until he has completed his official visits. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defensive back from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
