Georgia OT Looking at Clemson

This big Georgia offensive tackle is just starting to get the notoriety for an athlete of his size. Standing at 6'7 and weighing in at right over 300 lbs, this student-athlete has dominated the competetion this year. Three schools figure to be major players, and Clemson is one is of them.

Maybe its just me, but I love seeing big guys on the offensive line. OL Joey Horne is a guy that could be used to fill a big need at Clemson, especially with so many of our key players on the offensive line playing their last year in a Tiger uniform.

Horne, 6-foot-7, 310 lbs is an enormous prospect from Hiram, Georgia and is ranked as one of the top 50 players in the state. With his size, he may not exactly be the prototypical offensive lineman in Tommy Bowden's fast paced offense, but by all accounts, this fine student-athlete is in great shape, and he's got great quickness for his size. He's supposed to be an athletic big man who can move. His latest number posted in the 40-yard dash is 5.1 seconds.

He also is a strong kid, already benching 340 lbs and squatting 460. Recruiting expert Max Emfinger also has him as the #25 Offensive Tackle prospect in the country.

Horne has indicated that he really doesn't have a leader in the recruiting process and he plans to take some visits before making anykind of decision.

As of right now, Joey Horne is planning on visiting Clemson, Georgia, and Arkansas. He has already received a verbal scholarship offer from the Tigers, but has not yet received one in writing.

We will continue to keep you updated on OT Joey Horne as the season continues. Top Stories
