Palmetto QB Says Pack, Tigers Lead

The Clemson Tigers would like to add one more quarterback in the 2004 class and Sumter signal caller William Richardson appears to be one of the top 3 candidates still out there. We've got the latest on his recruitment in this extensive update.

Sumter quarterback William Richardson is getting ready for the 4A state championship game this Saturday against Gaffney. He'll start thinking about setting up official trips when his season is over.

North Carolina State leads slightly over Clemson (only fave which has offered, recruiting the hardest), Maryland, Memphis and South Carolina.

"I talked with NC State a couple of days ago and they said they probably won't have a scholarship offer for me. I still like them but I guess I'll have to look elsewhere."

"Clemson calls me every week and they've been to my school a couple of times. They have a great offense and I like the atmosphere. They've got great fans and it's a good place to play," Richardson added.

"I still hear from Memphis and South Carolina occasionally. I'll find out how interested they are after our championship game."

Richardson should be fully qualified with a 4.0 GPA and a 1060 on his SAT.

For those that remember, William is the brother of former Sumter, and Penn State quarterback, Wally Richardson. We will continue to keep you updated on William, right up through signing day 2004.
