S Mike Hamlin
6-2, 184, 4.6
Lamar High School
Lamar, South Carolina

The 6-2, 185 pound prospect is ready to go on record with a leader. "I would say Clemson by a little bit. I would say they are my leader because they are showing a lot progress. I still have the same recruiting coach at Clemson. I feel a little closer to him than the one at South Carolina."

Former South Carolina Defensive Coordinator Coach Cosh was the recruiter for Hamlin before he was terminated.

Clemson Coach Burns visited the home of Mike Hamlin on Monday. "It went pretty good. We talked about academics. We also talked about how they are doing and the depth charts. Clemson is looking at me for free safety."

South Carolina Coach Williams also paid Hamlin a visit Monday. "It went pretty good. He didn't really talk about how they are doing. He talked about the depth chart. He also talked about academics and how they do stuff."

Hamlin will have his chance to show what he can do against the best players in the Carolinas next week when he plays for the South Carolina Shrine Bowl team. "I'm excited about the Shrine Bowl," stated the prize recruit.

Hamlin has already schedule visits with Clemson, South Carolina and Duke. The talented prospect is not sure if he will setup any additional visits.

Don't expect a commitment from the Palmetto standout until after he takes his official visits. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defender from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
