Morris Talks About North-South Game

Timmonsville WR Phillip Morris had the chance to showcase his skills against some of the best players in the Palmetto state when he participated in Saturday's North South All-star game.

The South Carolina standout was hampered in the second half by an injury, but still showed that he has all the physical tools to be an outstanding receiver at the collegiate level.

He didn't get the opportunity to catch very many balls Saturday, but he did show he did catch almost every one thrown his way on the afternoon.

CUTigers.com caught up with Morris after the game to get the latest on his recruitment.

What was the injury you suffered in the 3rd quarter?
Phillip Morris: I hurt my knee. It was an old injury. I think I'm okay.

Have you gotten any closer to making your final decision?
Phillip Morris: It's getting close now. I'm leaning more towards Clemson right now. That's probably where I'll end up going. I'm not sure right now but that's probably where I'll end up going.

Have you set any official visits with Tennessee or any other school other than Clemson?
Phillip Morris: No, not yet.

It sounds like your good friend Mike Hamlin may be leaning more towards Clemson now. Did you talk with Mike this week?
Phillip Morris: Yeah we talked. I think he's leaning towards Clemson a little bit now.

Any update on when you may make your decision?
Phillip Morris: No, not right now. We are trying to wait out our options right now.

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding wide receiver from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
