"That visit may change my mind"

Matt Raysor has enjoyed his first couple of practices with the South Carolina Shrine Bowl team this week. CUTigers.com caught up with the South Carolina commit after practice to get his thoughts on the Shrine Bowl and the latest on his recruitment.

DT Matt Raysor
6-4, 275, 4.8
Bamberg Erhardt High School
Bamberg, South Carolina

How does it feel to be playing against the best players in the state?
Matt Raysor: You gotta really come up here and show your talent. Leon Hart, Thompson and Cory Lambert are strong and quick. I play 2A ball, and we really don't have any offensive lineman that are big and quick. We either have them that are big and slow or little and quick. These boys up here got a combination of both.

Did you hold you own out there today against the best in the state?
Matt Raysor: Yes sir. You gotta hold your ground. Just because I play 2A ball. I gotta come in here and play with these big boys right now. It will help me get ready for college.

When was the last time you spoke with the Clemson coaching staff?
Matt Raysor: Coach West came to my house Thursday night before I left. It went well. He was supposed to be there at 6, but he came a little late. He caught me at a good time.

Do you still plan to make official visits to both of the Palmetto state rivals?
Matt Raysor: Yes sir, I still plan to visit both schools. After I make my visits I'll make my decision.

Are you still firm with your commitment to South Carolina?
Matt Raysor: Yes sir, but that visit may change my mind.

We will continue to keep you updated on Matt Raysor, right up through signing day 2004.
