Wide receiver Mike McIntosh continues to be one of the top target of the Clemson Tigers for the 2004 recruiting class. Here's the latest on the Florida native after speaking with him about the recruiting process Friday evening.
What are your plans for official visits at this time?
Mike McIntosh: I visited LSU earlier and I just took a visit to Auburn last weekend. I plan to visit Clemson, Florida and Florida State in January.
Are you ready to name a leader?
Mike McIntosh: No, all 5 of the schools are still in the mix. I'm still wide open. It might be signing day before I make my decision.
How did the visit go with Coach Swinney and Coach Bowden last week?
Mike McIntosh: It went good. The talked about how important it was for me to get up their for a visit. They said they thought I would like the school and the town. Basically it's a football town.
Which visit would you rate higher of the two you've already taken to LSU and Auburn?
Mike McIntosh: I would rate the Auburn visit the highest.
Why were you not able to attend the Clemson game against Florida State as planned?
Mike McIntosh: I just couldn't make it. Brandon left kind of early and I just didn't get up early enough to be honest. We had a game the night before.
What did you think about the Clemson victory over Florida State?
Mike McIntosh: I watched the game. Clemson got off basically. I was not really surprised. You can never really be surprised any more because any team can win any given game.
What are you plans for the rest of your senior year now that football is over?
Mike McIntosh: I will be heading to California for the Cali-Florida bowl in a few weeks. I am playing basketball now and will be running track as well. I am averaging about 8 points a game on the court.
What will be the deciding factors when you determine where you will play next year?
Mike McIntosh: I want to find a school where I will still want to go even if I get hurt and can't play football.
Will distance be a factor in your decision?
Mike McIntosh: No, it is no factor at all.
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver from Florida, right up through signing day 2004.
