Tribble Reese Commits to Clemson

Tribble Reese, the Tigers' top remaining target at quarterback for the 2004 class, committed to Clemson University earlier today. Reese will come to Clemson from Mountain Brook High School in Alabama, where he accounted for more than 3,000 total yards of offense and almost 30 touchdowns during his senior year.

Reese chose the Tigers over N.C. State and Ole Miss. He also had scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Mississippi State, and Wake Forest.

"I called coach Swinney," said Reese after making his commitment. "We just started out with small talk for a little. He asked if I had thought about it. I told him I wanted to come to Clemson. He was really excited."

With Reese now in the mix as a verbal commitment, the future Clemson signal caller closes down the Tigers' recruitment at quarterback this year.

Quarterbacks coach Mike O'Cain and offensive line coach Ron West already secured the commitment of Georgia native Cullen Harper, (6-3, 210, 4.8) earlier this year.

The Alabama native was recruited to Clemson by assistant coach Dabo Swinney and committed earlier this afternoon in a phone call to the assistant coach. We will have a full Q&A up on Tribble Reese, later this evening.

Reese is best described as a quarterback with similar physical traits to current Clemson quarterback Charlie Whitehurst. He's tall and possesses a strong arm, but he also has enough mobility to be considered a threat to escape the pocket and pick up yards on the ground.

Reese is also fully qualified with over a 1350 on the SAT and a 3.6 GPA. We will continue to keep you updated on Tribble Reese, right up through signing day!
