Q&A with Tiger Commitment QB Tribble Reese

Coach Dabo Swinney picked up another commitment from Alabama earlier today when Mountain Brook quarterback Tribble Reese committed to the Clemson Tigers.

When did you decide to commit to the Tigers?
Tribble Reese: Coach Bowden and Coach Swinney came the house on Thursday. I really liked Clemson from the beginning. I told them I would think about it this weekend and pray hard about it. Today I woke up today with orange and purple in my mind. There was no turning back.

Why did you select Clemson?
Tribble Reese: I love the school. The campus is great. The stadium is awesome. The facilities are nice. We stopped by on the way back from Wake Forest. Coach Swinney showed us the plans for the west end. It just looks awesome. The offense is awesome. I love the offense. I also love the coaches.

How did you tell the Clemson coaches about your commitment today?
Tribble Reese: I called coach Swinney. We just started out with small talk for a little. He asked if I had thought about it. I told him I wanted to come to Clemson. He was really excited.

Did you get a chance to talk with Coach Bowden today?
Tribble Reese: Yes, Coach Swinney put him on the phone after we had talked for a while. He said he heard Coach Swinney yelling down the hall. He hoped it was me. He sounded excited.

When did you first start thinking about committing to Clemson?
Tribble Reese: Well to tell you the truth I've been thinking Clemson every since I set foot on the campus. It's a nice place with the mountains and the lake. When Coach Bowden and Coach Swinney came over it just made me that much more pumped up. I didn't want to commit while they were here because I wanted to make sure of my decision. I wanted to sleep on it. I told them I would think about it over the weekend.

Tell us about your senior campaign?
Tribble Reese: It went really well. I just wanted to come out and play well. I really didn't know college football would be an option. I just wanted to play well. I was 166 for 238 for 2393 yards. I also rushed for 661 yards on 118 attempts. I had 4 rushing touchdowns and 24 passing touchdowns.

Are your parents supportive of your decision to attend Clemson?
Tribble Reese: Yes sir, they love Clemson. They love everything about the coaches.

Do you plan to take any other official visits?
Tribble Reese: I'm not sure. I will talk with my parents about other visits.

Have you met any of the Clemson players?
Tribble Reese: Actually I did meet Tim DeBeer when I was taking my official visit to Wake Forest. He was up there hanging out with some of his friends. He didn't try to recruit me.

How solid is your commitment to the Clemson Tigers?
Tribble Reese: I am a solid, solid commitment. I had a lot of schools coming in late. In the end all I could think about was Clemson. They were the first to offer. They really wanted me.

Have you gone out and bought any Clemson merchandise yet?
Tribble Reese: Actually we were just talking about ordering some stuff on-line. You can't find anything Clemson down here.
