The Clemson Tigers will be looking to add some depth at running back with the 2004 class, and several names appear to be emerging to the forefront to fulfill that need.

One name we recently discovered is Georgia native Darius Walker.

The Buford star running back is ready to go on record with a leader as he gets ready to take his official visits. "Notre Dame is my leader right now," stated the prize recruit in an interview this week.

Walker has already scheduled visits to his 3 favorites for January. "I will definitely visit Notre Dame, Stanford and Southern California. I've talked about taking all 5 visits, but I'm not sure just yet."

Will the 5-11, 195 pound prospect visit the Clemson Tigers in January? "Yes, its possible. I'm not sure." Walker stated that he would finalize his visit plans in early January.

The superstar running back will be looking at both academics and athletics when he makes his final decision. "I'm looking for a good balance between academics and athletics. I will also be looking at the coaching staff."

Walker has unofficially visited Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, Arkansas, Ohio State and Georgia Tech this season.

Offensive line coach Ron West is recruiting Walker for the Tigers and he has visited with him several times over the past few weeks. "I've had a couple of meetings with him. He's been to school several times."

Walker rushed for 1,986 yards and 26 touchdowns for the State Champion Buford Wolves. He has exceptional speed, good vision and balance and is already being considered as one of the most sought after running backs in the south for the class of 2004.

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding running back from Georgia, right up through signing day 2004.
