Ellerbe and Bryant a Packaged Deal?

Shine Bowl Defensive MVP Dannell Ellerbe remains open as he prepares to visit his four favorites during the month of January, but one thing remains clear: he sure wouldn't mind playing at the next level with his teammate Jamar Bryant. Could the Tigers land both of these talented prospects?

As the world of college football recruiting enters a critical stretch before the most of the top ranked prospects finish up their official visits, one linebacker is starting to stand out from the rest in the eyes of the Clemson Tigers.

Dannell Ellerbe.

The 6-1, 190 pound prospect from North Carolina is not ready to go on record with a leader with less than 40 days remaining until signing day. "Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson and North Carolina are my favorites right now. They are all pretty much even."

Ellerbe would like to play with his Richmond Country and Shrine Bowl teammate Jamar Bryant next season. "Yeah, it would be great to play together. We will be going to Clemson together on January 9."

Bryant and Ellerbe will also visit Georgia together on January 23rd and possibly Tennessee as well.

The talented prospect stated that all of his favorites are looking at him strictly as an outside linebacker. Ellerbe also added that he will not be watching the commitment lists of his favorites as he closes on a decision.

So when will the Rockingham standout make his final decision? "It will probably be after I take all of my official visits. I want to see them before I decide."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding linebacker from North Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
