6-7, 330-Pound OL Looking In-State

Mt. Pleasant offensive lineman Barry Richardson will be visiting Clemson and South Carolina over the next two weeks as he decides between the two Palmetto programs. Did the Tigers Peach Bowl performance and a pregame call from Coach Burns help the Tigers chances?

The 6-7, 330 pound lineman was impressed with the Tigers victory over Tennessee in the Peach Bowl. "I watched the first quarter of the game. It was a good game. Clemson looked really good."

Clemson Coach Burton Burns shared a little bit of the Peach Bowl experience with Richardson when he called him as the teams were preparing to play Friday. "Coach Burns called me before the game. He told me to wish him luck."

Richardson will get a chance to see his two favorites as he visits Clemson this weekend and South Carolina on January 16.

"I'm still looking at both of the in-state schools. I want to take both visits before making my decision." The prize recruit stated that he is not looking at any other schools at this point.

The Wando High School standout is on schedule to graduate after his junior season so that he can play college football next year. "I am on schedule to graduate this year," stated Richardson.

Editor's Note
Again, look for Clemson to keep the focus on two offensive linemen, Barry Richardson and Sumter's James Thompson. With four verbal commitments in the bag, including 4-star prospect Cory Lambert, the Tigers' recruiting on the offensive line is done, unless either Richardson or Thompson decide to come to Tiger Town.
