Top Fla TE Returns from All-Star Game

Lincoln High standout Craig Gelhardt just returned home from a trip to California where he participated in the Cali-Florida All-star game. caught up with the talented tight end and we've got his thoughts on the CaliFlorida experience and his official visits.

Gelhardt was one of eight stars from Lincoln High School to participate in the CaliFlorida All-star game.

"It was awesome," said Gelhardt. "We won 24-22. I had a fun time with the group. I met a great bunch of guys. They threw the ball twice to the other tight end but I didn't get any chances. I did some good blocking."

The prize recruit was unable to watch the Peach Bowl as the all-star game conflicted. "It was at the same time as our game," stated Gelhardt.

The 6-3, 240 pound prospect is not ready to go on record with a favorite. "My favorites would be Clemson, Louisville, Tulane, South Florida, Connecticut and UCF," stated the talented prospect.

Gelhardt is scheduled to take his official visit to Clemson this weekend but he is waiting confirmation from the coaches. "The coaches haven't contacted me yet about the visit. Coach Swinney is supposed to contact me with the travel plans."

Official visits are also scheduled with Louisville and Connecticut for January. "I will visit Louisville on the 16th and Connecticut on the 23rd. I'm still looking for somewhere to go the last weekend."

Gelhardt is not sure when he will make his final decision at this point. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding tight end from Florida, right up through signing day 2004. Top Stories
