The Clemson Tigers now have the lead for the Shrine Bowl lineman. "Yes sir, Clemson is my leader right now," stated Thompson.

Clemson's strong finish this season and the coaching changes at South Carolina have helped the Tigers' chances, tremendously.

"Their strong finish has helped Clemson. Not to mention the coaching problems at South Carolina changed my mind a little bit. I don't really want to be part of something like that: the problems they have had there lately."

Thompson just returned from a trip to San Antonio where he participated in the US Army All-American contest. "It was pretty good. We won 48-28 and I played pretty well."

Thompson will travel to North Carolina this weekend for an official visit. The prize recruit will then visit South Carolina on January 16th, Clemson on January 23rd and Florida State on January 30th.

All four schools will have a chance to impress the Sumter standout because he plans to wait until signing day to make his final decision. "I will not commit until signing day," stated Thompson.

The talented lineman plans to work hard in the offseason to prepare for college. "I'm trying to stay in shape. I will be working in the weight room and running.

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding offensive lineman from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
