Branscome Excited About Clemson Visit

Clemson defensive end commitment Shaun Branscome can't wait to take his official visit to Tiger Town this weekend. caught up with the Virginia standout and we've got his thoughts on the Peach Bowl and his official visit.

The Dublin, Virginia standout will be traveling to Clemson to learn more about the school and meet some of his future teammates.

"Yes sir. I'm pretty excited," said Branscome in an interview on Wednesday evening. "It's supposed to be a big banquet. I'm looking forward to that and looking around campus. I haven't really spent much time on the campus. I know the stadium and the football facilities well."

Branscome was impressed with the Tigers victory over Tennessee in the Peach Bowl. "I was impressed. I thought they would do well, but I didn't think they would beat Tennessee that bad. I was impressed with the win."

Is the 6-4, 255 pound prospect still firm with his commitment to the Tigers? "Yes, I'm still firm," stated Branscome.

The talented defender traveled to Florida for the holidays. "My girlfriend did the halftime show at the Georgia and Purdue game. She is a cheerleader."

Of course, the question on everyone's mind has to be about the girlfriend. Is there any chance she'll come to Clemson next year as well? "She is thinking about coming to Clemson, but she's not sure just yet."

Clemson defensive coordinator Lovett continues to keep in touch with Branscome. "Coach Lovett called last week. He said he would call back this week and tell me more about the visits."

Branscome will be working hard in the weight room to add pounds in the offseason. "I will be lifting weights. I need to get bigger. Right now I'm about 255. I want to get up to 275."
