* Tennessee offensive lineman Heath Benedict has been given permission to talk to other schools about transferring. His initial list includes Clemson, Georgia Southern, and Furman.
The Tigers have not officially made contact with Benedict, although there could be significant interest shown shortly.
Clemson recruiting coordinator David Blackwell has already been made aware of the fact that Benedict is interested in Clemson.
Benedict orginally chose the Volunteers over Florida State and South Carolina.
* Travis Robinson's father said in a brief phone call earlier this afternoon that he is not sure whether or not his son will visit Clemson this weekend.
"I honestly don't know," said Mr. Robinson.
Travis is expected to be hosted by Justin Miller, should he elect to come to Tiger Town. As a side note, don't be surprised to see Clemson make up some serious ground with Robinson should he make the trip. Based on what we've been told, he could is open to the possibility of backing off of his Alabama commitment.
Obviously, the key is to get him to Clemson first before anything like that can happen.
* Memphis native TE Phillip Merling and North Carolina native WR/CB Mario Melton will not be making the trip up to Clemson this weekend.
