By all accounts, it appears the Tigers are drawing closer to picking up their 18th verbal commitment.

Next on their list, Fork Union linebacker Maurice Reevey.

"Coach Lovett met with Maurice for a long time yesterday," said Fork Union head coach John Shuman. "Then he came in my office and said 'we are in good shape.' I would not confirm a commitment but I know they had a good meeting."

Reevey, who visited Clemson officially this past weekend, was hosted by former Fork Union star Mo Fountain.

The relationship between those two appears to be one the reasons the Tigers may be able to land the 4-star linebacker. "Maurice has been talking about Mo for the past few days continually, said Shuman. "He was a hall of fame player here. The two of them really hit it off this weekend."

Coach Shuman also pulled Maurice out of a basketball game last night to talk with him about Virginia Tech. "I told him there was no reason to visit if he has already made up his mind," stated Reevey.

And here's where the story takes an interesting turn.

Last night CUTigers.com spoke with Florida linebacker Javier Estopinan to get the latest on where the Tigers stand with his recruitment.

It turns out Estopinan had just hung up the phone with Coach West. "I just got off the phone with Coach West. He called to tell me that there is no need for me to take my visit to Clemson because they just got a commitment from another linebacker. I'm not sure of the name but he said he visited last weekend."

Maurice is expected to meet with coaches from Virginia Tech later today. Coach Shuman also mentioned that Michigan would like to come visit with the talented linebacker.

There are strong indications that Maurice Reevey may be heading to Clemson.
