* According to what we are hearing, both Anthony Davis and Dorrel Scott may not be 100% closed deals for the Clemson Tigers.
Apparently, Davis' mother is still insisting on Wake Forest for her son. Davis committed to the Tigers earlier today in a phone call to Tommy Bowden after orginally committing to the Deacons the day before.
* We've also learned that Clemson verbal commitment Dorrel Scott may end up taking an official visit to South Carolina this weekend, and is receiving heavy pressure to do so.
CUTigers.com has been told that Scott still remains firm in his commitment at the present time, but it goes without saying that you can't get too comfortable when a current verbal commitment for Clemson visits archrival South Carolina for a weekend.
* CUTigers.com has also confirmed that Memphis tight end Phillip Merling will indeed commit to the Tigers tonight and has already canceled his impending trip to South Carolina this weekend and a future trip to Arkansas.
Merling is being recruited to Clemson by Brad Scott and we've also been told that Merling is not an automatic sign and place and could qualify to enroll in school this fall.
Stay tuned, more info to follow!
