DE Anthony Davis

Spring Valley High School
Columbia, South Carolina
To say that the world of college football recruiting can be a rollercoaster ride might be a bit of an understatement.
Especially this time of year, when verbal commitments are given, taken back, and then given elsewhere. One doesn't need to look further than Columbia, South Carolina and Spring Valley defensive end Anthony Davis to prove that very statement.
According to sources close to his situation, the Spring Valley defensive end is no longer committed to the Clemson Tigers.
Davis was visited by Clemson coaches Brad Scott and Thielen Smith earlier today when it was learned that Davis was still not 100% committed to Clemson.
Davis was then told that the scholarship that was being saved for him was going to be given to someone else since he could not offer 100% confirmation on his commitment to Clemson.
The Tigers, who are going to take as many as 6 or 7 defensive linemen in the 2004 class, are still in the running for Florida native Chris Zellner, Gamecock commitment Matt Raysor, Alabama native Jacquez McKissic, and Florida native Akeem Robinson.
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defensive lineman and his continuing recruiting saga, right up through signing day 2004.
This could very well open the door for a prospect like Miami native Akeem Robinson. Robinson is a defensive line prospect that has seen his stock soar towards the end of the season.
