Purnell Opening Comments
Obviously we've got a very challenging game coming up versus a very good Maryland team. Certainly, they have struggled early in the ACC, yet at the same time they've played some outstanding basketball against some of the best teams in the country. They had a big win over North Carolina of course, and then they put a scare into Duke the other night.

Maryland got down 10 and you never really felt like the game was out of reach. You just felt like they were only a couple of jump shots away from winning. For stretches, Maryland looked like a top 10 team in the country, and they can do that. Obviously beating Florida when they were #1 in the country. Maryland has proven that they can play some outstanding basketball.

They are coming in here searching for their second win in the conference and we are looking for the same thing. We are trying to get something going on our homecourt. Their transition game is something we cannot get caught up in. At the same time, the same thing that has been bothering us this year is their strength, and that's pressure defense.

So we've got to do a much better job of that and get our turnovers down, certainly below 20. We'd love to have them below 15 to give us a chance to win. Top Stories
