LB Dannell Elerbe
6-1, 181, 4.6
Rockingham County High School
Rockingham, North Carolina
The Richmond County standout got his chance to hear lots of Rocky Top as he traveled to Knoxville to visit Tennessee last weekend. "It went all right," stated Ellerbe. The trip back took 9 hours for Ellerbe along with his mother and stepfather.
When asked if he returned home with a favorite, Ellerbe responded, "Nah, I'm still open."
Georgia and Clemson will try to close the deal with the Shrine Bowl star later this week as head coaches from both schools have in-home visits. "I believe Coach Bowden and Coach Blackwell will be here on Wednesday. Coach Richt will be here on Thursday."
Ellerbe had planned to visit North Carolina State next weekend but there may be a last minute change. "I was supposed to go to North Carolina State this weekend, but I don't think I'm going to take that visit anymore. If I don't go there I will go to North Carolina."
Coach O'Cain continues to preach the Tiger gospel as he keeps in close contact with the talented defender. "Coach O'Cain just called yesterday," stated Ellerbe.
Don't expect a decision until close to signing day for the prize recruit. "I will make my decision next week after my last visit. It will be close to signing day."
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding linebacker from North Carolina, right up through signing day 2004.
