SC DB Saying Things are Open?

Shrine Bowl defensive back Mike Hamlin is enjoying another day away from school because of the ice storm that hit South Carolina. With a decision just days away, he also says things are tightening up ever so slightly. Find out the latest in this recruiting update.

The 6-2, 185 pound prospect continues to struggle with his decision, as signing day grows closer. "I still don't have a decision. I will have a decision sometime this week," said Hamlin in an interview with on Tuesday.

Hamlin has already spoken with coaches from Clemson, Duke and South Carolina on the phone this week and he expects visits from all three on Wednesday and Thursday. "Most of the coaches will come on Wednesday and Thursday. I've talked to coaches from each school on the phone already this week."

When asked if the Tigers are still his leader, Hamlin responded, "It's hard to say right now."

Have the Tigers dropped or the other schools moved up as he closes on his decision? "The other teams have just moved up some," stated Hamlin.

A decision is not expected until Thursday at the earliest after the Lamar standout has met with the coaches from Clemson, South Carolina and Duke. "It will be Thursday at the earliest. I want to meet with the coaches first."
