WR Eric Huggins
6-3, 185, 4.4
Conway High School
Conway, South Carolina
The Conway High School stands will be full of college coaches on Friday night's next fall, as coaches will be coming to see Eric and his talented teammate Bobby Wallace, not to mention 2 other Division I-A prospects on the roster.
Today, we introduce you to Eric Huggins, a stand-out wide receiver who registered 52 receptions for 932 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior.
The 6-3, 185 pound prospect is already receiving attention from many of the top programs in the Southeast. "LSU, Oklahoma, Clemson, South Carolina, Arkansas, Auburn, Virginia and Tennessee are some of the schools showing interest," stated Huggins.
Huggins does have two early leaders as he prepares to begin attending the junior days and summer camps. "Tennessee and Clemson would be my early favorites," stated Huggins.
The Conway standout has been rooting for the Tigers over the past few years. "I root for Clemson because they throw the ball a lot," stated Huggins.
Huggins would like to model his career after the impressive career of Derrick Hamilton. "I met him one time. I want to be like him a little bit."
When asked what his strengths are, Huggins responded, "I would say coming off the ball and catching. I can go up and catch the ball at the highest point."
Huggins in not sure if he would prefer to stay in-state when he attends college or leave the Palmetto state. "I don't know. I want to stay in-state, but I also wouldn't mind going out of state to see what's new out there."
Offensive style and early playing time will be two important factors when Huggins decides where he will attend college. "I do want to go somewhere that throws the ball a lot. That's all I want to do. I would also like to see early playing time."
Who is the favorite Tiger of all time for the Conway star? "It would be Kevin Youngblood. I wear the same number too."
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding receiver from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2005.
