Tigers Fall in Tallahassee, 65-52

Different game, same old story. The Clemson Tigers found themselves trailing by just 4 points late in the second half, but a big run by Florida State allowed the 'Noles to coast in for the 13-point win.

Tim Pickett scored Florida State's first 11 points of the game to help lead the Noles to a 65-52 conference win Saturday afternoon over Clemson at the Leon County Civic Center in Tallahassee.

Pickett scored 15 of his game-high 16 points in the first half as the Seminoles built a 35-26 lead at the break, and then held on for the 13-point victory.

Sharrod Ford led the Tigers with 15 points, and Shawan Robinson added 9.

FSU received an added boost from its bench, which outscored Clemson's reserves 32-13. The Seminoles also shot 50% from the floor and held a 33-30 rebounding advantage against the ACC's top rebounding team.

Clemson used an 8-0 run to cut a 12-point deficit to 48-44 with 9:41 to play on a Lamar Rice dunk. The run however, came to a crashing hault when Chris Hobbs was called for a questionable foul, then assessed a technical foul for arguing with an official.

He was then disqualified from the game, and the Tigers never truly recovered. The Seminoles countered with a back-breaking 14-4 run to seal the deal.

Clemson failed to score a field goal over the course of the next eight minutes of the game.

With the loss, the Tigers fall to 9-13 overall, and 2-9 in the ACC. The Tigers' next game is this Wednesday night against N.C. State at Littlejohn Coliseum. Tip-off is set for 7 PM and the game will be televised by Fox SportsNet.
