Tigers, Dawgs Lead for Marlboro County WR

Marlboro County receiver Rendrick Taylor will be one of the top receivers in South Carolina for the class of 2005. The 6-foot-2, 205 pound standout will make an early decision as he is on pace to graduate in December. Who are the early favorites for the star receiver?

The 6-2, 205 pound prospect had a very impressive junior campaign for Marlboro County High School last year. Taylor caught 28 passes for 803 yards and 8 touchdowns last season. He also added 2 touchdowns on kick returns and another rushing touchdown.

Several of the top programs in the southeast are already showing interest in the prize recruit. "Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee are all showing interest," stated Taylor in an interview with CUTigers.com.

The college recruiters will be working the standout receiver early and often as he plans to graduate in December and enroll in January. "I will probably make my decision early. I will graduate in December."

When asked if there he has any early favorites, Taylor responded, "Clemson and Georgia are my early favorites right now."

So what are the strengths of the talented receiver? "I feel like I'm stronger than most receivers," stated Taylor.

Taylor also plans to work hard his senior campaign to improve his routes. "I want to work on maintaining my speed. I also want to perfect my routes. I want to make better cuts."

The Marlboro County star already has plans to attend several junior days over the next few weeks. "I am planning to go to the junior day at South Carolina, Clemson, and Virginia," added Taylor.

The rising senior also has an early idea of what will be important to him when he makes a decision, "I will look at how they recruit me. I will look at the run verse pass ratio. I am looking for a wide open offense. I will also look at the coaching staff."
