DT Cedric Gordon
6-3, 290, 5.2
Brookland-Cayce High School
Cayce, South Carolina
Brookland-Cayce defensive tackle Cedric Gordon had an outstanding junior season for his team, registering 76 tackles, 32 unassisted and 3 tackles for loss last season.
As a result of his efforts, he's already starting to hear from several schools around the southeast. "Clemson and Virginia are the schools showing interest at this time," Gordon told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.
When asked to name a favorite school, Gordon stated, "Clemson would be my favorite right now."
Gordon shows great promise as both a pass rusher and a run stopper. "My strength would be my speed on the pass rush. I also have good technique on stopping the run."
He also runs a 5.2 forty, and already has great speed for his size, but at the same time he intends to work on getting even faster and stronger. "I want to increase my speed and drop a few pounds," said Gordon. "I'll be hitting the weight room more this year to increase my strength."
When asked where he would like to camp at this summer, Gordon responded, "I haven't really thought about it yet. I will try to go to as many as I can."
Gordon also said that his favorite Clemson player of all-time would be the Carolina Panthers' Brenston Buckner. We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding defensive tackle from South Carolina, right up through signing day 2005.
