Atlanta RB Getting Lots of Attention

Atlanta standout Anderson Russell will be one of the top running back in the state of Georgia next season. Which schools are showing interest at this time for the talented running back? Who are the early favorites for the Georgia star running back?

The 6-0, 190 pound prospect is getting attention from many of the top programs in the Southeast. "I have been getting letters from Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, North Carolina State, Duke, Maryland and Oklahoma," Russell stated in a recent interview with

Russell rushed the ball 100 times for 573 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior for Marist. The speedster, who runs a 4.47 forty, also had 6 receptions for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns as well as a touchdown on a punt return.

When asked if he had any early favorites, Russell responded, "Florida, Auburn and Alabama would be the favorites right now from the teams that have been writing."

What are the strengths of the talented athlete? "I would say my strength and my quickness," stated Russell.

Russell plans to work hard his senior season to improve his running back skills. "I want to work on being more patient as a running back. I want to learn to wait on my blockers more."

The Georgia standout already has plans to attend one junior day. "I want to try to go down to Auburn on March 6 or 13. I've been invited to others, but I'm not sure when they are."

Anderson also added that both Clemson and Georgia would be two of his favorites if either school decides to start showing significant interest.
