Brandon Cannon Update

The need for defensive improvement starts with recruiting. Who can the Tigers bring in to help take the football program to the next level? How about DE Brandon Cannon, one of the toughest defensive ends in the southeast.

One of the top defensive prospects in the state of Georgia is undoubtedly DE Brandon Cannon.

Cannon, 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, is playing both defensive end and tight end for Stone Mountain, Georgia's Stephenson High School.

Brandon has already set up 4 official visits, the first will be to Maryland in early December, then he will travel over to Auburn on January 11th, and finally he'll be at Clemson on January 18th and Georgia Tech on January 25th. North Carolina and Ohio State figure to be the other two schools that get consideration.

Off the field, Brandon is a standout student, has a 3.5 GPA and an SAT score of 940. On the field, he is an absolute force with amazing quickness off the ball and the ability to take on multiple defenders with blazing 4.8 speed. With a bench max of 325, he has all the tools in place to come in and compete at the the division 1-A level.

Overall, Cannon is looking at the total picture when it comes to his college choice, "I'm looking at academics, the coaching staff, and the facilities. I'm not worried about leaving home; distance from home is not a factor."
