North Augusta WR Visits Clemson

The Clemson Tigers opened spring practice today and some of the top prospects in the South were in attendance. One of those in attendance was North Augusta standout C.J. Byrd. What did the prize recruit think of his visit to Tiger Town? Find out the latest in this recruiting update.

When asked what he thought of his visit to Clemson, Bryd responded, "It went great, great. I spent a lot of one on one time with Coach Bowden."

What impressed Byrd the most during his visit to Tiger Town? "The west coast offense. I loved watching them practice. The skill they practice with. I really liked that."

The 6-3, 180 pound prospect enjoyed his time with Clemson Head Coach Tommy Bowden. "It was great. He talked about how coming to Clemson would be the right idea. He said it was my choice but he wanted me there."

The Tigers have offered the talented athlete along with several others. "I have offers from Clemson, Georgia, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Ole Miss and Auburn," stated the North Augusta standout.

"I also spent time with Coach Swinney and Coach West today. Coach West is my recruiter and Coach Swinney will be my position coach."

Byrd plans to visit a few SEC schools over the next few weekends. "I am planning to go to some other schools. Next weekend I am going to Auburn. The next weekend I am going to Carolina."
