The 6-1, 200-pound prospect does not have any offers but several programs are showing interest. "North Carolina State, North Carolina, Virginia, Clemson, Nebraska, Duke and Auburn are all showing interest," Edwards told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

When asked if there were any early favorites, Edwards responded, "Not yet. I'm not ready to name any favorites."

Edwards was a star running back and defensive back for Wallace-Rose Hill High School last season. The talented athlete carried the ball for over 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns. The talented defender also snatched 7 interceptions. Most schools are recruiting Edwards as a defensive back at this time.

The North Carolina standout plans to attend junior days at both of the in-state schools. "I went to State already. I'm going to go to Carolina in April," said Edwards.

In terms of strengths on the field, Edwards says, "My strengths are my jumping ability and my speed. I plan to work on getting stronger and faster during my senior year."

Edwards grew up rooting for North Carolina as a youngster. Football runs in the family for the cousin of Tampa Bay star defensive tackle Warren Sapp.
