Was it good to finally get out there during a scrimmage and showcase your abilities again in front of the fans on Saturday?
Currie: Yeah, it feels good. I've always loved playing the game. Anytime I can come out here and play I love it. Running track this spring has kept me from being in the scrimmages, but it was good to get out and show what I could do.
It seemed like the offense really got a boost by having you out there on the field. You led the receivers with 3 catches for 85 yards...your thoughts on that?
Currie: Oh yeah, I think they would be alright even I wasn't there though. (laughing) But I feel like they always play a little more relaxed when I'm out there.
The defense seems like they finally caught up with you on Saturday. Would you agree with that?
Currie: Oh yeah, they are playing well. They were making plays all afternoon long. They were always around the ball and you just hope they can continue that on into the season.
Walk me through that long pass that you caught from Charlie.
Currie: Charlie put that one in the perfect spot, and I was just concentrating on it the whole way in to make sure I was going to catch it. I had to hold back a little bit to make sure I was going to get it, but I got it, and that's all that matters.
Your role on the team this year, is it more of a leadership position now that you are a senior?
Currie: I'm not too much of a vocal person, I think anybody will tell you that. I like to lead by example though, just by my actions. For me, I'll just plan on going out there and do all the right things and hopefully the other guys will follow and try to do the same thing.
