Tigers, Gators Early Favorites for Top TE

After signing First Coast standout Brandon Croley in last year's class, the Tigers are looking to add another top player from the same school in the class of 2005. Jacksonville star TE Paul Muse is one of several First Coast players that the Tigers are recruiting.

The 6-5, 230 pound prospect has offers from Clemson, Auburn, Central Florida and Indiana. "Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and many others are showing interest," Muse told CUTigers.com in a recent interview.

Who are the early favorites for the talented tight end? "Clemson and Florida are my favorites right now."

The Jacksonville standout traveled to Clemson earlier this spring for one of the Saturday scrimmages. "It was nice. I enjoyed it a lot. I talked to Coach Swinney a lot. He showed us around. I also got to talk to Coach Bowden in his office."

Muse is a great blocking tight end but he can also do some damage as a receiver. "My strength is blocking. I also have the ability to get in the open field and make big catches."

The Tigers are also recruiting teammate Ryan Stamper and the two First Coast stars have discussed playing together in college. "Me and Ryan have talked about it. We both like Clemson a lot and Florida a lot. It boils down to what is the best situation. If we can play together great, if not we will go our separate ways."

"We are going to be young this season," added Muse. "I'll be playing linebacker and defensive end. We lost over 30 seniors. We will be young but we should still be good."

Muse already is preparing his summer camp schedule. "I plan to camp at Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Central Florida and LSU this summer," stated Muse.

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding tight end from Florida, right up through signing day 2005.
