Tight End or Defensive Line for Robinson?

CUTigers.com caught up with Clemson signee Akeem Robinson recently to see how things are going as he prepares for his freshman year. "I talk a lot with Coach West," said Robinson. "I've also talked to Cedric Johnson a couple of times. Tribble Reese called me a few nights ago. We talked about the workout book. I'm exciting about playing with him."

The 6-5, 265 pound prospect is working hard to prepare for his football career at Clemson. "I've been lifting and working out," said Robinson in a recent interview with CUTigers.com. "I'm trying to prepare myself for the next level. I'm at about 265. They told me they wanted me to stay there."

Everything in the classroom appears to be in order for the Florida star. "Everything is in good shape. I'm trying to finish up the year strong on my GPA."

Robinson will not be waiting until August to start his Clemson experience. "I'm going to start school this summer. I'm heading up on June 28th. I want to get a head start on my classes. I also want to get to know my teammates and the coaches. I'm looking forward to everything. It will be a whole new setting for me."

Robinson is also glad that the recruiting process is over. "I feel great," he said. "I was glad when the whole thing was over. Everything was lifted off my shoulders."

The future Tiger lineman has also been talking with his coaches and future teammates frequently. "I talk regularly with the coaches. I talk a lot with Coach West. I've also talked to Cedric Johnson a couple of times. Tribble Reese called me a few nights ago. We talked about the workout book. I'm exciting about playing with him."

So what position will the talented prospect play when practice starts in August?

"Right now they are talking to me about tight end. It doesn't matter as long as I get an opportunity to play. I'll block kicks if they want me to. I just want to get on the field and get a chance to play. If I get a chance to be on the field next year that would be great. If not I'll take the time to build up my body and prepare for the next year. I try to look towards the positives in everything."

We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding athlete from Florida, right up through the first day of practice in August.
