Roman Fry, a 6-4, 240-pound senior, was Ironton High School's only first team offensive All Southeast District Division IV selection as he was named to the offensive line 1st team.
Fry, who has 10 Division I college offers on the table including Clemson, West Virginia, Indiana, Wake Forest, Purdue, and Ohio University, was also a candidate for the Offensive Player of the Year award.
Fry is still a strong Clemson lean.
Troy Williamson continues his brilliant season for Silver Bluff High School. The Bulldogs marched through Hanahan Friday evening, rallying from a 14 point deficit to win 21-14. Williamson registered five receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown at wide receiver, and he also had 110 yards on 16 rushes and another score on the ground.
Jeff Francoeur scored on touchdown receptions of 72 and 36 yards to help lead Parkview to their 25th consecutive win. Parkview looks to defend their 5-A State Championship when the playoffs begin next week.
Fry, Williamson, and Francoeur all have official visits lined up to Clemson in January.
Clemson verbal commitment DB Gerald McCloud scored on a 60-yard run in Arlington Country Day's 50-14 loss to P.K. Yonge in a Class A regional semifinal game. Ironically, P.K. Yonge is the same team that eliminated QB Will Proctor's Trinity Prep team last weekend.
Clemson verbal commitment LB Anthony Waters also saw his season come to an end Fridan evening. Lake View lost 7-0 in a fierce defensive struggle with undefeated Lamar.
Both McCloud and Waters are stil firm on their commitments to Clemson.
