Crestwood safety Damien Wright continues to see his stock soar in the eyes of several schools around the southeast. The Tigers moved in with a scholarship offer just last week, and now another school has jumped on board the Wright bandwagon by offering him a scholasrhip yesterday.

Crestwood High School continues to be a popular stopping point for college coaches this May. Safety Damien Wright, who picked up offers from Clemson and Duke last week during visits with assistant coaches from both schools, has added another offer from Vanderbilt.

"Vanderbilt is the newest offer for Damien," said Crestwood assistant coach Brian Jackson. "He was also offered by Newberry last week."

Wright, who projects as a safety at the collegiate level, recorded 112 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and 1 interception last year for the Knights. He also played well on special teams, blocking 3 punts and returning 12 kicks for 247 yards.

"He's 6-foot-2, 185 pounds and runs a consistent 4.4 or lower once in a while," said Jackson. "He's got great closing speed, and can deliver a wallop of a hit."

Wright has favored Clemson throughout the early stages of the recruiting process, and has tentative plans to camp at Clemson, South Carolina, and Georgia this summer.
