Dorrel Scott got the chance to checkout the players he will be competing against this fall when he made it up to Clemson for the Orange & White game earlier this spring.

"I went to the Orange and White scrimmage with Jeff (Scott) and some of my former teammates. It was pretty good. I was just looking to see what I'd be up against next year. It is a big step from high school to college."

Scott talked with a few of his future teammates at the orange white scrimmage. "I talked with Tribble Reese and Courtney Vincent. I knew Courtney from the Shrine Bowl."

Coach Brad Scott is keeping in close contact with the future Tiger defender. "Coach Scott talks with me a lot. He just checks in to make sure my grades are all right."

When asked if his grades and test scores are in order, Scott responded, "My grades are good. I need to take the SAT one more time. I'm a few points off."

Scott is working hard to prepare for the next level.

"I got a workout plan from the coaches. As soon as I got it I started working out. I haven't been on a scale in a while but last time I did I was around 295. I've been going up to the school to workout. I have been running a mile here and there. I also do a lot of sprints."

What does his mother think about her son leaving for college in just a few months? "She can't wait to get me out of the house," stated Scott.

Dorrel is also looking forward to his Clemson experience. "I'm looking forward to being away from the house. I'm ready to be on my own."
