DT Etta Etta-Tawo
6-3.5, 295, 4.98
McEachern High School
I stopped by McEachern for practice yesterday and got to see a big man that is getting a lot of early attention. The man known as "Double E" with his two first names is a defensive lineman that has already picked up two offers.
Etta Etta-Tawo is a 6-3.5 295 pound defensive tackle that looks to me like his best position would be on the offensive line. He is originally from Nigeria, and he is relatively new to the game. He has good quickness and flexibility, and he is strong at the point of attack. He lined up on both sides of the ball for McEachern in practice, and he projects on either side of the ball in college.
"I've gotten offers from Clemson and Maryland," said Etta-Tawo. "My Top 5 is probably Georgia, Auburn, Southern Miss, Clemson, and Maryland."
Etta-Tawo had two teammates sign with Southern Miss last year in Gerald McRath and C.J. Barrows. Both of those players are now in good shape academically for the Golden Eagles, and Etta-Tawo is a lock to qualify. He is a big line prospect with excellent grades. He has two early offers, and that number will continue to grow.
We will continue to keep you updated on this outstanding lineman, right up through signing day.
